    MPD: Man points gun at 2 Dixie Queen employees

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested on Saturday after Memphis Police say he pointed a gun at two Dixie Queen employees.

    At 11:30 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at the Dixie Queen on Getwell Road. One of the victims told them that while they were working, an unknown man walked up to the drive-through window armed and pointing a black firearm at her and another employee.

    When officers arrived, they saw a man walking in the parking lot and detained him. While conducting a pat and frisk, they located a black firearm loaded with 27 live rounds in the magazine.

    Officers secured the weapon and identified the suspect as Dustin Gowens.

    According to the police report, the incident was captured by the business’ surveillance camera.

    Gowens has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
