MEMPHIS – There is a lot of change facing second year Tigers coach Alex Simmons.

Simmons helped put a wrap on summer workouts by opening the doors Tuesday night for an open practice out at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

Year two under Simmons brings a number of new faces to a Tiger team that went 13 and 17 last year. But it is a Memphis team that added a ton of experience from the portal, not to mention bringing back Alasia Smith.

So expectations are definitely on the rise.

“I believe we have somewhere, five or six fifth year seniors. Then we’re bringing back players,” Simmons said. “I think it’s inevitable that we need to have better performances. We need to have better results in our season.”
