Local Fires Merge Creating Largest Complex Currently in the Nation
Tonight (Tuesday) we were able to speak with Weiser’s Fire Chief Tim Atwood before he headed back out to work the fires that have been filling our little valley with smoke. Atwood shared, “Yesterday (Monday) we had a significant fire start on the east side of Interstate 84 near Durkee, so a separate fire has now taken off. The Durkee fire and Cow (Valley) fire have now burned together and they are managing all this now as a complex.” With this new development Atwood shared that the complex is currently the largest in the nation.
