Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office investigates woman’s death during Covelo fire
NORTH COAST, Calif. — The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a woman that occurred during a wildland fire earlier this week. Lt. Andrew Porter said the remains of the woman have not yet been positively identified, but they are believed to be those of 66-year-old Dagmar Stankova of Covelo.
MSCO: Missing woman found dead near home burned in Covelo fire
A woman trying to save her home from a fire in Covelo was likely found dead on the property where the fire began, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 94500 block of Mina Road around 2:15 p.m. July 8 to “assist Cal Fire with a … rapidly-moving wildfire with one structure possibly fully involved and one person potentially missing.”

Willits woman was killed with piece of furniture, court records show
A Willits woman was killed June 29 after being attacked with what authorities described as a wooden table leg, according to a Mendocino County court document. The weapon is identified in a criminal complaint filed July 2 in Mendocino County Superior Court against Willits resident Michael Coleman, 41.
