On 06-29-2024 at approximately 1107 hours, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center began receiving calls from several residents in the area of the 5200 block of Blue Lake Road, within the Brooktrails Township in Willits, CA. Callers were reporting a male subject causing a disturbance in the area, with the sounds of yelling and possibly fighting.

MCSO: Willits man arrested after woman killed in ‘violent assault’
A Willits man was arrested on suspicion of homicide Saturday after a woman died following a “violent assault,” the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 5200 block of Blue Lake Road in Willits after multiple callers in the Brooktrails area began reporting around 11:07 a.m. June 29 that a man was “causing a disturbance in the area, with the sounds of yelling and possibly fighting.”

MCSO: Montana man found dead on Mendocino Coast
A missing Montana man was found dead in the Pacific Ocean near Little River on the Mendocino Coast, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, rangers with the California State Parks Department were dispatched around 2:15 p.m. June 30 to a report of a missing person “who was last seen near the ocean at Van Damme State Park.”

Law enforcement discovered a homicide today in the 52000 block of Blue Lake Rd., a remote area northwest of Willits.
