Community Asked To Keep Children Away From Construction Equipment
Roosevelt City is calling on the community to make safety the first priority as construction crews continue work on the City’s secondary water project. The current phase of the project has been working along Gates Drive. Next week the contractor will work their way down Nelson Avenue and then from Nelson Avenue down Gates Drive to 200 North. Once that is completed, crews will move down to 1080 South between State Street and 320 East. “When construction crews are on 1080 South, the road will be closed to local traffic only until the main line is installed. With school starting soon, it will be important to plan routes to school avoiding 1080 South until the road is reopened,” shares Roosevelt’s safety message. “Additionally, the project team asks that no vehicles or trailers are parked on the roadway between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm. As always, safety is a number one priority, so to protect the public, and especially children, the project team asks that children be kept away from the construction equipment, so accidents do not occur.” Public cooperation is appreciated as the project continues.
