A beloved pet has been reunited with its owner after a scary situation in Wisconsin this week when the pup managed to fall around two stories into a well. Fortunately, all is seemingly well after the dog was brought to safety following a rescue operation by firefighters.

A dog named Rip is safe after falling into a 30-foot-deep dry well in the town of Menomonie. The incident occurred on Monday (June 10) night near the dog's home on County Road BB. The Menomonie Fire Department was alerted by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office after receiving a distress call from Rip's owners shortly before 9 p.m., per WEAU .

Upon arrival, the rescue team found Rip trapped in the well, which was three feet wide. A firefighter was lowered head-first into the well to rescue the dog. Rip was placed in a sling and lifted to safety, suffering no injuries from the incident as he was reunited with his owners.

The Menomonie Fire Department shared the news in a post on its Facebook page , sharing a photo of Rip with a firefighter and calling the rescue a success.

The rescue operation was completed by 10 p.m. Despite appearing unharmed, Rip's owners plan to take him for a medical check-up to ensure his well-being.
