Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

If you've been looking for new clubs to ride out the rest of summer on the golf course , your first stop should be PGA Tour Superstore . Not only does the retailer have today's best drivers and irons from Titleist and TaylorMade on sale, but it recently marked down nearly all of Ping's G430 collection from 2023, including the ultra-versatile fairway wood that's now $80 off.

The Ping G430 Max Fairway Wood is finally on sale, now marked down to $270 at PGA Tour Superstore—a 23% discount on the normal $350 price. This highly customizable wood has been making waves on the retailer's site, boasting more than 160 five-star ratings that have propelled it up to the No. 1 ranking among the bestselling Ping clubs on the site. It's still in stock for both left- and right-handed golfers and comes in your choice of four loft angles, five shaft types, and six flex options. Ping's 430 Hybrid and steel shaft irons are also on sale if you're looking to round out your bag.

Ping's G430 collection features multiple fairway woods, but the Max was developed to fit the widest range of golfers' needs. Its Carbonfly Wrap—a composite-based crown—wraps across the head to reduce weight while shifting the center of gravity toward the club face to increase ball speed. The face itself is of variable thickness, reducing spin while offering more flexibility to further improve ball speed with higher launch and distance. It also includes a backweight to help smash factor, even for golfers with slower swings, while enhancing overall forgiveness.

Golfers who have integrated this Ping fairway wood into their long game say it's an immediate upgrade over anything else they've used. "Drives longer and straighter," a shopper said. "My second shots on long par-5s have become much easier to either get a birdie or par. This club hits straight and long—a must-have in my golf bag."

Others say it's incredibly versatile. "Very solid and straight. Perhaps not the longest, but easy to hit off both fairway and tee," a shopper said. Another agreed, adding, "Lightweight, fast, and gives effortless distance whether on the tee, fairway, or rough."

You might not need one for every hole, but on longer par-4 and 5 holes, it pays to have a forgiving hammer like Ping's G430 Max wood . Make sure to pick yours up soon, because now that it's on sale some customizable options might start to sell out.
