Mark Zuckerberg Unveils Massive Statue of His Wife

Mark Zuckerberg took to Instagram on Tuesday to display a gigantic statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan , that he erected in the couple’s backyard. Zuckerberg touted the extreme act of love as “bringing back [a] Roman tradition .”

Zuckerberg posted a photo and a video showcasing the turquoise statue, which depicts Chan’s likeness as a Roman-era statue might. She’s wearing a flowing silver-garment which wraps around the statue like angel wings. Zuckerberg ’s photo shows the real-life Chan, clad in a bathrobe and sipping a cup of coffee, standing next to her enlarged likeness. The video pulls back to show the statue in the couple’s yard, where it occupies its own corner.

“Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife,” Zuckerberg captioned the post.

To craft the astonishing piece, Zuckerberg hired Daniel Arsham, a renowned artist who has worked on projects for Tiffany & Co. and Pokémon. “I love how he mixed the styles here,” Zuckerberg said of the statue in the comments. “It'll just keep getting better as it gets weathered.”

Zuckerberg said it was “very fun” crafting his ode to love. “I’ve joked about making a sculpture of her for years and when the opportunity to work with Arsham came up I finally did it!” the Meta founder and CEO explained.

Many of Zuckerberg ’s fans agreed that the statue was “epic,” with one claiming it was “the most billionaire thing to do ever.” Many told Zuckerberg that Chan looked like “a mermaid goddess,” and that she was lucky to have a partner such as him. “Get yourself a man who makes sculptures of you,” user @girls responded.
