Mark Wahlberg gave The Hollywood Reporter an update on his family’s new life in Las Vegas as the premiere of his new Netflix movie, The Union , on Thursday night.

Wahlberg made the decision to move his wife and four kids to Nevada after spending decades living in the showbiz-capitol of Los Angeles. “I got to tell you that I miss it right now standing here,” the actor said as he stood outside of the Egyptian Theatre in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard.

“I always miss it,” Wahlberg continued. “I loved it [here]. But raising teenagers who are growing, I wanted to make sure that they’re put, first and foremost, in a good, safe, healthy environment where they can thrive, pursue their interests and goals and go after what they want to do in life.”

Wahlberg was quick to point out that his family is pretty devoted to their new location. “We like Vegas, too. Vegas is cool,” he said. “You hear Las Vegas and you think of the Strip. When I think of Las Vegas, I think of small tight-knit communities with great schools, great affordable housing, great jobs, a booming economy, and lots of sports teams coming. It’s a cool place.”

But the thought of coming back to Hollywood, where his children spent their early years, is never far from his mind. “We could always come back,” he teased the outlet.

Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham, were joined by three of the couple’s four children at the premiere. Wahlberg and Durham posed for photos alongside Grace, 14, Brendan, 15, and Michael, 18. Missing was daughter Ella, 20, who’s currently away at college .

Wahlberg stars opposite Halle Berry in The Union . The two play former high-school sweethearts who reunite and become embroiled in an intercontinental caper. It’s currently streaming on Netflix.
