Adam Sandler finally shed light on the secret behind his famously laid-back fashion style in a TikTok that went viral on Sunday, Aug. 25.

At 57, Sandler is a household name, known not just for his films but for the lasting impact he's made on Hollywood. But in addition to his movies and beloved characters , Sandler has, believe it or not, become somewhat of a fashion icon. He often forgoes high fashion and designer labels, instead opting for basketball shorts and basic polos. His colorful, informal style has become a big talking point over the years.

Over the weekend, Sandler met up with the individual behind the TikTok account @mysteryfashionist, which has more than 58,400 followers. The actor broke down his unique sense of style, saying his fashion decisions aren't premeditated. He usually ends up wearing "whatever's in the closet," which is often goofy shorts, basketball shoes that pop, and T-shirts he can throw on.

"It just happens. I didn't really think it through," Sandler said about the outfit he's wearing in the video.

"There are sneakers. There are some goofy shorts. I wear this to cover this," he added, pointing to his jacket and patting his stomach, "and then I got this to cover more."

Sandler added, "Whatever's in the closet, I grab it. I think I got a bunch of the same socks. Underwear's kind of similar, too. I grab it. I don't think about it much. Most people in my family make fun of me, but I keep moving."

As for fashion items Sandler can't live without, let's just say he's a simple man. He appreciates unique socks, shoes that fit, shorts that extend past the knee, and goofy T-shirts.

Sandler's appearance in @mysteryfashionist's TikTok, meanwhile, garnered over 2.7 million views and 475,300 likes.
