    James Earl Jones, Beloved Star of 'The Lion King' and 'Field of Dreams,' Dies at 93

    James Earl Jones, the beloved actor with myriad accomplishments in Hollywood, has died. Deadline reported the news , citing a rep at Independent Artist Group. Jones reportedly passed away at home in Duchess County, NY. He was 93 years old.

    Jones is widely regarded as a giant in the worlds of stage and screen. He voiced Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in The Lion King, starred in classics like Field of Dreams, C onan the Barbarian, Coming to America, and The Hunt for Red October.

    He reprised his iconic voice roles in recent years, voicing Darth Vader again in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and 2019's Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker. He stepped back into Mufasa for Disney's 2019 live action remake of The Lion King.

    Jones is an EGOT winner, one of a small group of professionals awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. This included four competitive Tony Awards, an honorary Oscar, two competitive Emmys, and one Grammy Award. He also has lifetime achievement awards from SAG-AFTRA and the National Board of Review.
