Vince Vaughn has opened about the possibility of a sequel to his 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers , about a pair of divorce mediators who crash weddings in an attempt to meet and seduce women. The film, which also starred Owen Wilson, Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, and Bradley Cooper, remains massively popular nearly two decades later.

The 54-year-old discussed the topic during an appearance on Good Morning America on Friday, when asked about which of his movies gets quoted the most. "We just had a lot of fun. It was a good group of people," he reminisced.

"Can we please get a Wedding Crashers 2?" pleaded ABC News correspondent Will Reeve, after telling the Bad Monkey star what a big fan of the movie he was. "You know, it's been close. They talked about it a few times," Vaughn explained. "I think you just wanna make sure that if you are gonna do it, that there's a great story."

"And my take on it always was, 'What's the next chapter in those characters' lives?'" he continued. "Don't go back and try to tell the same story again. But do something that would be fitting for the time. So if they land on something that seems engaging, that's always a possibility."

This isn't the first time a sequel to Wedding Crashers has been floated. In a June 2021 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment , Wilson suggested that a sequel could start filming as soon as that August.

"I don't think it's 100 percent yet, but they're definitely talking about doing it. We'll see," he said at the time. "You never know when you work on something how it's going to turn out, and that one just really connected with people."

"It made a big difference in my life," Wilson added. "I have great memories of it, and working with Vince and how great he is always an exciting thing."

Never say never. If Beetlejuice can get a sequel over 35 years later, then maybe there is still hope for Wedding Crashers . Hopefully it'll happen before they're crashing the retirement home, though.
