Two Indicted For Making False Reports
Two Mercer County residents have been indicted on multiple counts of filing false reports over the past year. Dakota L. Milton, 21, and Anastasia M. Wellbaum, 23, both of 851 South College Street No. A12, Harrodsburg, were indicted by the Mercer County Grand Jury last week on multiple class D felony counts of filing false reports which generated an emergency response in 2024.

The Mercer County Fair and Horse Show concludes with a full day of horse and livestock shows starting with the Academy horse show in the center ring and the swine show at the livestock arena at 9 a.m. The youth rabbit show and the open youth poultry show happen at noon. The goat show happens at the livestock arena at 1 p.m. The midway opens at 6 p.m. The horse show opens in the center ring at 6:30 p.m. with the champion being crowned that night. Tickets are $8 per person and free for children five and younger. Ride bracelets are $15.

Tourist Commission Approves New Budget For 2025
The Harrodsburg-Mercer County Tourist Commission approved a new budget for the 2025 fiscal year. The budget is nearly $200,000 less than last year’s budget. At their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 26, the tourist commission approved a budget of $1,059,500 for the new fiscal year, down from last year’s budget of $1.2 million. According to the draft budget the tourist commission provided the Harrodsburg Herald, the previous budget forecasted revenues of more than $1.2 million over the year, but the commission had only received $1.07 million.
