Mercer County Parks Hosts “Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament” Drawing Over 250 Residents
Trenton, NJ – Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trenton’s A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit Café Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.
Air quality alert in effect for 6 N.J. counties until Wednesday night
On Wednesday at 9:41 a.m. an air quality alert was issued valid until 11 p.m. for Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone, until 11 p.m. this evening," says the National Weather Service.
14-year-old on bike hit by car, seriously injured on N.J. street
A 14-year-old was seriously injured while riding a bike after being struck by a car Saturday night in Mercer County, authorities said. The East Windsor Police Department responded to a reported collision around 9:30 p.m. involving a pickup truck and bicyclist near Twin Rivers Drive North and Ithaca Place, said East Windsor Police Department Lt. Thomas Meyer.
Mercer County Asks Residents to Complete Needs Assessment Survey
MERCER COUNTY, NJ - Mercer County residents aged 60 years or older, as well as their caregivers, have until September 30 to complete the county’s 2024 Needs Assessment survey. The assessment, County Executive Dan Benson said in a statement, plays a critical role in collecting responses from seniors to determine the needs in the aging community.
