Maria Connolly joins Lawrence Hopewell Trail Board of Trustees
The Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation has announced that Maria Connolly has joined its Board of Trustees as the representative for Mercer County government. Connolly is the new Mercer County Director of Planning, succeeding long-time LHTC Trustee Leslie Floyd, who recently retired from county service. Floyd was central to the development of the LHT, particularly in Mercer Meadows Park, which spans Lawrence and Hopewell Townships as part of the 20-mile trail loop.

Update: Severe thunderstorm warning anticipated to expire at 10 p.m.
The warning was for Burlington, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. "The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with these thunderstorms," states the National Weather Service.

EWING — Come the fall semester, the housing situation at The College of New Jersey will be different than ever before. TCNJ and Mercer County Community College have worked out a deal where TCNJ will provide room and board to its students, according to a release from MCCC. The partnership “for the Fall 2024 semester and beyond” will also offer MCCC students special rates for the accommodation.

Trenton, NJ – Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trenton’s A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit Café Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.
