This year the Clifton Lions Club celebrates 95 years since it was chartered on March 14, 1929.

On Thursday evening, March 7, the Lions and community members will mark the occasion with a 95th Anniversary Banquet at the Bosque Arts Center.

Keynote speaker at the banquet will be Lions Past International Director Sam Lindsey.

Presentations about Clifton Lions long history of service and fun are part of the program, as well as current projects, and visions for the next 95 years.

The Texas Lions camp at Kerrville will be featured and supported. Since 1949, Texas Lions have provided weeks of resident summer camp experiences free of charge for children and youth with physical disabilities, type 1 diabetes, and cancer. Now Texas Lions are also offering some weeks of camp for those young people with their families.

The Lions Club motto is “We Serve.”

The Clifton Lions Club meets on the second Thursday of each month for lunch, program, and brief business from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 303 South Avenue E in Clifton.
