    Tickets are now for sale for the Meridian Public Library’s annual fundraiser dinner and silent and live auctions in late April.

    The Jewels & Jeans Fundraiser will be held at the Meridian Civic Center on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

    The evening’s festivities will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m.

    Tickets can be purchased at the Meridian Public Library currently located at 118 North Main Street in historic downtown Meridian.

    All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the Meridian Public Library’s operating account or its renovations account, the later of which is for the completion of its new building project.

    All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law since the library is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

    In 2023, the library recorded over 4,300 patron visits – a 20-percent increase over 2022.

    The library’s Summer Reading Program attracted over 300 children participating in the Story Hour and Crafts over eight weeks.

    The annual Easter Egg Hunt drew 33 children and 22 adults – along with the Easter Bunny.

    In September 2023, the library held its first tea party which attracted 18 kids who learned etiquette and manners.

    The library also continues to be the location for a book club that meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month. New members are always welcome.

    Through grant funds, the library has purchased new books, audiobooks, and large print books for readers of all ages.

    Now in its 24rd year, the Meridian Public Library’s mission is to provide educational support, library and information services, training, and outreach to Meridian and surrounding communities.

    The collection of the library contains over 16,600 volumes. This library circulates over 6,000 items per year.

    The library is open Tuesday thru Thursday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    The library’s board organizes fundraisers in the fall and spring, and accepts book donations year-round.
