    The last day to register to vote in the city and school elections in May ends on Thursday, April 4.

    The six candidates running for the two seats on the Clifton Independent School District’s Board of Trustees include: Sean Marmolejo, Steve Conrad, Taylor McCain, Jose Ritz, Matthew Domel, and Nick Brown.

    The eight candidates running for the two seats on the Meridian Independent School District’s Board of Trustees include: Leeann Childers Ardeneaux, Tristan Rusk, Larry Denman, Jacob Dagley, Marc Arnold, Wendy Cummings, Robert Garza, and Matthew Dickinson.

    The four candidates running for the two seats on the Meridian City Council include: Mary Jo Christensen, Dana A. Williams, Buster Felan, and Sharon Wilson.

    To confirm your voter registration status, visit https://teamrv-mvp.sos. texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do In the U.S., you can vote if you are:

    •A U.S. citizen.

    •A resident of the county where you submit the application.

    •18 years old or older on Election Day.

    •Not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you completed your sentence, probation, or parole).

    •You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

    To vote in Texas, you must first register. There are many ways to register. No matter which way you choose, your county’s voter registrar must receive your application at least 30 days before an election.

    Ways to register to vote:

    •In-person. Visit your county’s Voter Registrar office at 104 West Morgan Street in Meridian.

    •By mail. Pick up a voter registration application from your county’s Voter Registrar office, public libraries, government offices, or high schools.

    •Online. Fill out your voter registration application through our online portal : https:// vrapp.sos.state.tx.us/ index.asp, then print, sign, and mail it to your county’s Voter Registrar office.

    You may present one of the following approved forms of photo ID to vote in person in Texas:

    •Texas Driver License

    •Texas Election Identification Certificate

    •Texas Personal Identification card

    •Texas Handgun License

    •U.S. Military identification card with the person’s photo

    •U.S. Citizenship Certificate with the person’s photo
