Beth’s Breakfast, Burgers, Lunches, etc. was welcomed into Meridian’s business community with a ribbon-cutting on Friday afternoon, May 10.

Located in a little green building with white trim at 600 East Morgan Street, the restaurant is owned and operated by Beth Alden, a familiar face in the local foodie scene.

Beth has been in the restaurant business for over 24 years; her previous venture was operating the cafe at Meridian Livestock Commission just outside Meridian.

Beth said she came out of retirement to start this new venture because she wasn’t ready to slow down.

“I retired for one day, and I had been watching this place and I wanted it so bad,” she said. “I have always thought this was a cute little place.”

With assistance from Matt Dickinson and her son Jeff Mobley, Beth refurbished the little green building earlier this year.

Beth said she thought this new location would be a prime spot for a cafe that serves home-style food.

    Breakfast and lunch is served there from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.

the week. You can dine-in or takeout.

For breakfast, guests can expect breakfast burritos, breakfast bowl, breakfast croissant, biscuit with sausage grave, or a full breakfast; for lunch, hamburger, cheeseburger, hot ham and cheese, or grilled chicken salad. French fries, tator tots, chips, cookies and other desserts are extra.

Beth also serves up daily specials; in the recent past she’s fixed steak kabobs, steak fingers, fried chicken, chicken spa-ghetti, and fried porkchops.

On Friday evenings, Beth will offer fried catfish along with hush puppies from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. (or until the fish runs out). For individuals on-the-go, the cafe also operates a drive-thru with access from East Morgan Street (Highway 174). Beth’s Burgers accepts cash and credit cards.

Beth’s family has had a hand in the cafe’s décor; for instance, her granddaughter – Lynzee Oldham – created the pictures of the burgers and fries on the windows up front.
