Meridian’s “Not So Jazz Band - Jazz Band” hit the road during the 4th of July season with a stop at The George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Muesum, hosting a concert under the rotunda.
The band returned to La Maderna Field to play a jazzy rendition of the national anthem before a Cleburne Railroaders professional baseball game, and headlined the Valley Mills 4th of July Celebration entering guest throughout the morning.
The Valley Mills celebration host Tammy Jo Whitmire stated, “Everyone loved it. I definitely want the group to come back. So many people were giving compliments and wanting to know more about the band. Thank you for showing up and showing out!!! Loved it!”
The group was also invited to perform at The Bush Library Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in December. The Bush Library is located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station.

The 'Not So Jazz Band – Jazz Band' is a dynamic group of young musicians from Meridian, bringing a fresh twist to traditional jazz music.
Under the direction of Meridian ISD band director Daniel Yguerabide, this professional 12-piece ensemble quickly gained popularity across Central Texas, captivating audiences with their vibrant performances.
Known for their eclectic repertoire, which includes hits like 'You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,' 'Long Train Runnin',' and 'Sharp Dressed Man,' the band blends modern rock with classic jazz, creating a unique sound that delights listeners of all ages.
Since their formation, the 'Not So Jazz Band – Jazz Band' has performed at numerous notable events, including the Waco Wonderland Festival and the Bare Bones Barbecue Car Show & Toy Drive in Gatesville.
Their performances are marked by high energy, audience engagement, and a strong sense of community.
The ensemble is composed of talented current and former students from Meridian ISD, with occasional guest musicians from Clifton. Each member brings their own flair to the group.
