KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Danute Terrell Dixon, 28, faces 14 criminal charges after shooting into a home in Merriam, Kan. on Monday.

According to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, Dixon has been charged with one count of Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, seven counts of Aggravated Assault, four counts of Aggravated Endangerment of a Child, one count of Criminal Damage, and one count of Violation of a Protection Order.

These charges are in connection to a shooting that occurred on Monday, July 15.

According to the Merriam Police Department, the shooting took place at a home at the 9200 block of W. 49th Street — between England Avenue and Grandview Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they determined there had been an argument between a couple at the home earlier that day, and that one of the people involved had left the home but later returned.

Police said the fight continued and the person was eventually asked to leave. However, as they started to leave, prosecutors allege Dixon fired multiple rounds into the home.
