Bashas’ selected a Mesa resident as the winner in the adult category for its annual Donut Flavor Craze contest this week.

Brian Vehon from Mesa was the winner. His donut, called “What’s Up Doc?” takes inspiration from Bugs Bunny and features a light cream cheese frosting with carrot cake crumbles on top.

Vehon’s donut will be available for purchase at Bashas’ locations across the state starting on Friday June 7, which is National Donut Day.

Vehon will be named a Bashas’ Official Donut Ambassador for 2024 and will receive one dozen donuts every month for a year. He will also receive $500 worth of prizes.

The runner-up for the adult category of the contest was Mesa resident Keyana Hokanson. Her “Despicable Donut” was inspired by the Minions from the “Despicable Me” Franchise and features banana-cream filling and a yellow banana-flavored frosting. Hokanson will receive a $50 Bashas’ gift card.

Danny Hale from Mesa’s “Swiftie Donut” netted him an honorable mention in the adult category and he will receive a $20 gift card.
