VIRGINIA—The DFL Rural Caucus has officially voted to endorse Lorrie Janatopoulos in her campaign for Minnesota House District 7B.

This endorsement underscores the strong support for Janatopoulos among rural Democrats and highlights her commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by Minnesota’s rural communities.

“The DFL Rural Caucus is fortunate to endorse Lorrie for the Legislature,” said caucus chair Theresa Keaveny. “She brings great knowledge and experience on rural economic development that will serve her community and our state very well.”

Janatopoulos, a long-time resident and advocate for northeastern Minnesota, has built her campaign on a platform that emphasizes rural economic development, healthcare access, education funding, and environmental stewardship. The DFL Rural Caucus focuses on addressing the specific needs and concerns of rural Minnesotans. Their endorsement signals a strong belief in Janatopoulos’ ability to effectively represent rural voices in St. Paul.

“I’ve known Lorrie for almost 20 years. She is one tough cookie, hardworking, persistent and well-versed on the issues,” said Mike Simpkins, vice chair of the caucus. Local farmer and Cotton resident Heather Lindula echoed these sentiments. “I have lived on a farm for 20 years. My husband, 3 children and I raise beef cattle, goats, and poultry. I am proud to endorse Lorrie for State Representative. She will be a strong voice for agriculture.”

Upon receiving the endorsement, Janatopoulos stated, “I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the DFL Rural Caucus. Our rural communities are the backbone of Minnesota, and I am committed to fighting for policies that will ensure their prosperity. From expanding broadband access to supporting our farmers and small businesses, I will work tirelessly to build a brighter future for all residents of District 7B.”
