CAMBRIDGE—The Hibbing High School girls tennis continued a busy week, traveling to Cambridge and falling in two matches, 6-1 to Totino-Grace and 4-3 to the host Bluejackets.
Against Cambridge-Isanti, Hibbing got a second-singles win from Mya McKenny over Scarlet Porta, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 10-7.
In doubles, Bella Jaynes and Erin McCormich defeated Ainsley Doom and Elle Chesla, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 at second doubles, and Brylee Conda and Ava Bougalis over Syd Bleckford and Claire Sjodin, 6-3, 6-4.
The southern Bluejackets got singles wins from Evie Porta over Kenedi Koland, 6-3, 6-1; Allie Trodin over Gianna Manning, 1-6, 6-4, 10-4; and Grace Welbel over Kori McCormick, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, Anya Lawman and Lyla Hajek beat Opan Valeri and Heidi Rasch, 6-1, 6-4.
Against the Eagles, Hibbing’s lone win came from second doubles where Jaynes and Erin McCormick beat Isabel Buci and Caroline Pollard, 6-0, 6-2.
Totino-Grace got singles wins from Reese Weeks over Koland, 6-0, 6-1; Eleanore Termes over McKenny, 6-2, 6-4; Allie Moxness over Manning, 6-2, 6-2; and Bella Veceillo over Iris Hendrickson, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Erica Welsh and Avery Cantwell beat Rasch and Valeri, 6-1, 6-1; and Audrey Weeks and Adri Cognetta beat Bougalis and Conda, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8.
