    Chisholm sets preliminary levy at maximum level

    CHISHOLM—The Chisholm School Board has set the 2024 payable 2025 levy at the maximum levy authority.

    From now until the final levy is set in December, the district has the ability to lower that amount but cannot exceed the maximum levy. The preliminary levy is due at the State and Minnesota Department of Education by September 30.

    The board is planning on setting the final levy at the Truth in Taxation meeting set for December 9.

    The district took up the following other matters at its Sept. 23 meeting.

    • Transfer of Tim Kirsch to custodian/bus driver at Chisholm Elementary, effective Aug. 23.

    • Accepted the resignation of Melissa Gerard, bus driver, effective Oct. 25.

    • Hired Sasina Nyman as paraprofessional at the Vaughan-Steffensrud, effective Sept. 19.

    • Hired Robert Timpane as custodian/bus driver, afternoon shift, effective Sept. 30.

    • Accepted a leave of absence request from Amber Toole, Paraprofessional, effective Oct. 4.

    • Hired Amanda Judd as a temporary paraprofessional at the Vaughan Steffensrud, effective Sept. 3 through Sept. 30.

    • Approved 2025 group Medicare rates with Blue Cross Blue Shield, from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2025.
