RC Racing comes to Side Lake Fall Festival

SIDE LAKE—The Side Lake Events Committee has a variety of family fun events in store for the Side Lake Fall Festival.

This year’s event is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in the pavilion of the Side Lake Community Center.

New this year are the Iron Range Racing Club with remote control race cars.

JR Albrecht, one of the club members, said the Side Lake Events Committee had contacted them online about being part of the festival.

“We’ll have six cars that have been donated by local businesses that kids can try out for free,” Albrecht said.

Other events include archery, pony rides, a petting zoo from Cook’s Country Connection, pumpkin decorating (free pumpkin for the first 150 kids, limit one per child), games, crafts and prizes. There will be live music by Ted Feyder, snacks, hot beverages, and fire pits where you can warm up.

The Side Lake Fall Festival is free and open to the public. This event is made possible through the support of sponsors.

Each year the Side Lake Event Committee coordinates five community events: Fall Festival, Winter Festival, Firecracker 5K, Fourth of July Parade, and Celebrate Side Lake. Sponsorships are set up to cover all five events with one donation. There are various levels of sponsorship available.
