VIRGINIA—Range Mental Health Center’s Gabriella Suihkonen-Gross, LICSW, MSW, was recently honored as the Young Professional of the Year at the 2024 Laurentian Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Ceremony.

Gabriella, known as “Gabby” among colleagues, joined RMHC in 2020 as an intern and quickly progressed to become a dedicated therapist, a news release stated.

She was a key figure in the launch of RMHC’s Compassionate Community Response Team (CCRT), serving on the team from 2021 to 2023. In early 2024, she transitioned back to RMHC’s therapy team, where her contributions continue to make a positive impact.

Gabby’s recognition highlights her commitment to improving mental health services in the community. The Young Professional of the Year award celebrates individuals aged 39 or younger who have made a significant social or economic impact through their work. Gabby’s leadership and innovation in the mental health field have had a lasting effect on both RMHC and the broader community.

RMHC also extends heartfelt congratulations to Megan Moberg, who was nominated for the Young Professional of the Year for her outstanding contributions to the CCRT Program. The CCRT is a collaborative effort between RMHC mental health professionals and local emergency services, providing on-site mental health support. Megan’s work within the program has been instrumental in ensuring its success and growth.

“Both Gabby and Megan are vital employees at RMHC, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work, passion, and the difference they make in the lives of those around them,” said RMHC CEO, Annmarie Florest. “Their contributions help drive our mission forward, and this recognition is well-deserved.”
