HIBBING—A new opportunity for those considering a career in aviation is coming to Range Regional Airport in Hibbing. A Discovery Flight event for ages 12 and up is being offered Saturday, Aug. 10, in the General Aviation Building at the airport. Chisholm Fire Department moves into new building
CHISHOLM—The community celebrated the completion of a new public safety building last week in Chisholm. Since then the Chisholm Fire Department successfully relocated its firefighting vehicles and equipment from the old firehall built in 1908 to the new building, where they are responding to calls, according to Fire Chief Chris Masucci. The City of Chisholm Ambulance Service and Chisholm Police Department are anticipated to join the fire department in the near future, bringing all three of the city’s EMS services under a common roof in a state-of-the-art facility.
Groundwork underway at new school site
CHISHOLM — Contractors with heavy equipment have started groundwork at the future site of a new preschool through grade six building in Chisholm. Work at Hwy 37, County Road 5 intersections begins July 15, includes detour
DULUTH, Minn.—Beginning July 15, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is starting an intersection improvement project on Hwy 37 east of Hibbing. The project includes intersection improvements at both intersections with County Road 5, new lighting and pavement resurfacing between the two intersections. Hwy 37 will remain open, and County Road 5 traffic will be detoured during this project, which is expected to be completed in mid-September. The County Road 5 north intersection detour is Hwy 92 to Hwy 25. The County Road 5 south intersection detour is County Road 16 and South Dublin Road. After June’s floods, health concerns surface in northeastern Minnesota
