    Man charged after search leads to largest seizure of fentanyl in ENC county’s history

    MESIC, N.C. (WNCT) — A Pamlico County man was arrested on fentanyl and methamphetamine charges after a search of a home on Upper Neck Road in Mesic.

    This was done as part of an ongoing investigation into the selling and distributing of meth and fentanyl in the county. As a result, investigators found 2.8 pounds of meth and 1.2 pounds of fentanyl.

    Roger Benjamin Voliva, 47, was charged with:

    • Trafficking by possession of methamphetamine
    • Trafficking by possession of heroin/fentanyl
    • Maintaining a dwelling for keeping/selling controlled substances
    • Possession of marijuana
    • Possession of drug paraphernalia

    Voliva was jailed in the Pamlico County Detention Center under a $2 million secured bond. This is the largest seizure of fentanyl in the history of Pamlico County.
