    Power outage reported in Metairie after vehicle hits pole

    METAIRIE, La. ( WGNO ) — More than 2,000 people were without power in Metairie on Sunday, July 14, after a vehicle reportedly hit a power pole.

    In a social media post, Jefferson Parish Councilman At-Large Scott Walker said the vehicle hit a gas meter and a power pole near Hudson Street.

    Walker said the Jefferson Parish Fire Department is at the scene, and residents in the area were evacuated.

    According to the Entergy Outage Map , 2,650 Metairie residents experienced the outage.
