    PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Cooper Koch scored 19 points as defending state champ Metamora beat Peoria High, 69-33, to win the class 3A Geneseo regional on Friday night.

    The win is number 600 in the career of head coach Danny Grieves.

    Other boys basketball regional winners included Richwoods, Notre Dame, Manual, Illini Bluffs, Peoria Heights, Peoria Christian, Fieldcrest and Lexington.

    In college basketball, Illinois Wesleyan beat North Central, 66-62, to advance to the championship game of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.

    WRESTLING: Six area girls won twice on Friday to advance to the state semifinals at the girls state wrestling championships.

    Two area schools have two semifinalists: Canton’s Kinley Smith (125 pounds) and Katelyn Marvel (145) advanced as did Richwoods seniors Kaila Williams (140) and Jaida Johnson (155). Notre Dame’s Autumne Williams (170) and Prairie Central’s Chloe Hoselton (235) also moved into Saturday’s state semifinals.

    The Washington boys wrestling team beat Wauconda, 49-13, in the state duals quarterfinals. The Panthers will wrestle Chicago Brother Rice in Saturday’s class 2A semifinals.

    Woodstock Marian Catholic beat LeRoy, 54-11, in the class 1A state wrestling quarterfinals.
