    PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Goalkeeper Mariah Quinn stopped two penalty shots in the overtime tiebreaker to lead Metamora past Washington in a class 2A girls soccer regional semifinal on Tuesday.

    The game was scoreless through two 40-minute halves of regulation and two ten-minute overtime periods. The Redbirds outscored the Panthers 3-1 in penalty kicks to win the match and advance to play U-High in Friday’s regional title.

    U-High beat Bloomington, 9-0, in the other semifinal in Washington. Richwoods and Dunlap advanced at the Dunlap regional.

    Notre Dame beat Orion, 7-0, in the Geneseo regional. Normal West and Normal Community also won regional semifinal soccer matches.

    Central Catholic beat host Monticello, 1-0, to capture a class 1A soccer regional championship.

    Ridgeview and Farmington won regional baseball games Tuesday. Canton, IVC, LeRoy, Princeville and Henry-Senachwine won regional softball games.
