Eastern US sees nothing but sunshine next 5 days, Tropical Storms Nadine & Oscar on the maps

The weekend is underway and we have no changes in the overall outlook for the next 5 days. The dry weather pattern that covers much of the eastern half of the US continues with no break in sight for this pattern anytime soon. Today we see clear skies up and down the East Coast. Well offshore is a coastal storm that is essentially holding high pressure in place. We will have sunshine, little in the way of clouds, and temperatures that will reach the low and middle 70s in most areas this afternoon though it will be a little cooler with winds off the ocean near the coast. Tonight will start clear but we could see some patchy low clouds and fog develop in cold spots. Lows in warmer urban areas will be close to 50 while everyone else will be in the mid 30s to lower 40s.

The warming temperatures will continue Sunday since we have the same high sitting overhead with no change in air mass and no shots of cold air coming anywhere close. Southwest winds will develop and that will take temperatures Sunday afternoon into the mid and upper 70s with cooler readings near the ocean. Other than some patchy morning fog inland, skies will be mostly sunny.

The next cold front is not due to arrive until Thursday so high pressure holds on through Wednesday. We will see some rather warm temperatures through Wednesday and 80 degree highs will be a possibility especially inland in Central and South Jersey and points southward. Temperatures well into the 70s will be common in most locations for afternoon highs. Each day will be about the same with little cloud cover other than nighttime and morning fog. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are likely to be mostly sunny

TROPICAL STORM NADINE & TROPICAL STORM OSCAR

Tropical Storm Nadine formed overnight from disturbed weather in the Western Caribbean. Nadine is making landfall over Belize and is forecast to continue moving west and inland in Central America. Eventually it will move out into the Pacific Ocean, probably early Monday and it could restrengthen into a tropical storm there but it is no threat to the US mainland whatsoever.

The government of the Bahamas has issued a Tropical Storm Warning
for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Southeastern Bahamas. The government of Cuba has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the provinces of Guantanamo, Holguin, and Las Tunas and a Tropical Storm Watch for Camaguey. Disturbed weather to the northeast of the Dominican Republic has strengthened to Tropical Storm Oscar. Thanks to high pressure in the Eastern US and a coastal non tropical storm well east of the Carolinas, Oscar is likely to slow down between the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas and the eventually turn north and north east into the open waters of the Atlantic. it is also not a threat to the US mainland thanks to the big blocking high that will remain in place in the Eastern US for the first half of next week.
