New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Connecticut Indian Summer weather continues this week

The work week begins where the weekend left off. We have nothing but clear skies on the satellite loops. It is hard even to find clouds over the eastern half of the US. Except for some clouds passing through Northern New England, the rest of the East is clear and quiet with absolutely nothing to see on local radars. Today is another sunny day. Temperatures are warming up and with west southwest winds today, temperatures will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s just about everywhere including the coast..

Going forward this week we see nothing of importance. There is a cold front that will be moving across Southern Canada and the Northeast passing through Wednesday night. The front is dry and we aren't going to even put in the chance of a shower in the forecast. This leaves us with no rain in the forecast right through this coming weekend. The only difference is that temperatures will be a little lower at the end of the week. Tropical Storm Oscar is over the east coast of Cuba. Oscar is a tiny tropical storm and it will begin to move northeast through the Southern Bahamas Tuesday and then out to sea to the northeast where it will eventually be absorbed by a developing low near Bermuda. Oscar is absolutely no threat to the US.

Winds will turn more southerly Tuesday which will mean slightly cooler temperatures at the coast but inland areas will see highs again reaching the upper 70s and lower 80s. Some record highs could be challenged in some places. We will have plenty of sunshine all day long. Wednesday looks to be another day of mainly sunny skies though we do have that approaching cold front for Wednesday night.

Wednesday highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 inland while it will be a few degrees cooler along south and east facing shorelines. The front passes with nothing more than a wind shift Wednesday night. Thursday will be a day where sunshine returns. Northwest winds will bring in cooler air and highs will only be in the low to middle 60s. It will be a little cooler with sunshine Friday. Highs will be just in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
