'We're excited': New brewhouse/restaurant opens in Mexico Beach

MEXICO BEACH — Forgotten Coast Brewing Co. (FCBC) has opened at 4101 U.S. 98. It is a 50-barrel brewhouse with a full-service kitchen specializing in beer, pizza, burritos, tacos, seafood and sliders.

"We love our fresh seafood, sugar white sand beaches, and cold beer," the Forgotten Coast Brewing Co. website says. "This is a place where lawn chairs outnumber yoga mats, sand dollars are currency, and Piggly Wiggly is a landmark."

The Mexico Beach restaurant is fully staffed, but applications stay open to anyone looking for work.

"We were extremely lucky to open with a full staff," said Steve Wells, Food and Beverage Director for Forgotten Coast Brewing Co. "We were able to employ people who had already worked with other entities that we were associated with. Panama City and Tyndall made it easy for us to staff."

Wells is excited about where the Brewing Co. is headed in Mexico Beach.

"We are all excited about being a part of the 'Build Back Mexico Beach' community,' " Wells said. "We have a high watermark inside of our building left from Hurricane Michael in 2018. We feel that FCBC is a constant reminder of how far Mexico Beach has come. The future of this Brewing Co. is furthering our community in Mexico Beach."
