    Looking for Fourth of July festivities? Here are some we've found

    Looking for Fourth of July festivities to take your family this year? Here is a list of fireworks and Independence Day activities in communities around Somerset County.

    Meyersdale

    This year is Meyersdale's 150th year and this will be the biggest firework display the borough has had to date, according to Meyersdale Mayor Shane Smith. It will take place at dusk June 30, at the Paul E. Fuller playground in the center of town. The day's events begin at 11 a.m. with the Meyersdale VFD chicken barbecue. At 4 p.m., food truck Out of the Smoke will open. The Somerset County Community Band will be playing at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m. is the flag-raising ceremony with special music by Wilson/Werner family. A welcome by MC, Wayne Conklin, DJ of Music Express is at 6:15, followed at 6:30 with music by Music Express. In the pavilion there will be hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, Big Poppa Corn popcorn and glow sticks for sale. A dunking booth to raise money for a back-to-school event and duck regatta is planned. A 2 p.m. cornhole tournament is also hoped to be organized. At dusk with be the fireworks by Little Big Shots.

    Somerset

    "We are overjoyed to host the 2nd annual Ignite The Night Fireworks and Community Event," said Roz Pugh. "This event celebrates our community spirit, and we are excited to see families, friends, and neighbors come together for an unforgettable night." Ignite The Night Fireworks and Community Event will have 7 p.m. community event, 9:15 p.m. live stream, 9:30 p.m. fireworks, July 3, at the Somerset high school football field. Avoid parking in the upper soccer fields. This will give Little Big Shots plenty of room to set off the display. For safety, the lights in the stadium will remain on during the fireworks. The professional pyrotechnics team, Little Big Shots, has crafted a fireworks show that promises to be even more spectacular than last year. DJ DJZ Entertainment will keep the party going with music and games for all ages. Jennifer Ansel will be set up and ready for face painting. Food and beverages from local vendors include Out of the Smoke, Mt. Kettle Corn and Blanca Martin Shaved Ice. Children of all ages can partake in fun activities, including face painting and games. Meet and connect with local organizations and businesses that make our community special. Learn about their contributions and how you can get involved. This event is in partnership with Somerset Inc. They will be available to answer questions about how you can become a part of the Somerset Inc. family. This event is fully funded by community donations in partnership with Somerset Inc. Donations will be accepted at the door to continue this family event for years to come.

    Berlin

    Berlin Community Grove's 4th of July Celebration, 1999-1001 Beulah Road, Berlin, kicks off at 11 a.m. July 4. Food, ice cream, bingo, live music, basket raffle, fireworks, vendor show, car cruise, and more are all planned. Music lineup: 11 a.m. Glory Guys; 11:45 a.m. South Penn Crossing; 12:30 p.m. Bill Shawley; 1:15 p.m. Centerfire Bluegrass; 2 p.m. Casselman Valley Travelers; 2:45 p.m. Mountain City Grass; 3:30 p.m. Alex & Britney Hay; 4:15 p.m. Paul, Loretta & Friends; 5 p.m. JD & Cindy; 5:45 p.m. Shane and Friends; 6:30 p.m. The Bootleggers; 7:15 p.m. Joe Faidley.     Seven Springs

    Fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. July 5. Start the day off between 7–11 a.m. with the breakfast buffet at the Slopeside Dining Room. At 11 a.m., ticket sales open for Summer Adventure – the Alpine Slide, Trampoline Thing, Tahoe Lake activities and more – at the ticket sales desk, located in the Skier Services Building. Upgrade your adventure to an All-Day Adventure Pass for unlimited fun on more than 10 activities. Also at 11 a.m., check out the Foggy Goggle Axe House. Stop by one of the dining outlets for a sandwich, entree or even an ice-cold beverage. Visit the Bavarian Lounge, Foggy Goggle, Mountain Pizza, Slopeside, Helen’s and more. From 6-9 p.m., the Riley & Ty Duo will be on the Foggy Goggle Deck, part of the Foggy Goggle Concert Series, before the fireworks show. From 9 p.m. until 12 a.m., DJ Perfect Effect will count down the fireworks show and keep the party going inside the Goggle through the evening. At 9:30 p.m. fireworks will light up the mountain.     Galleria

    Galleria Johnstown and Pyrotechnic Artists will do a 20-minute fireworks show at dusk July 5.

    Indian Lake

    A fireworks display is scheduled to start around 9 p.m. July 6 in Indian Lake Borough.
