Miami-Dade, FL - A man suffered a non-life-threatening laceration to his head during a fight involving three people at a southwest Miami-Dade plaza early Monday morning.

Miami-Dade police are investigating a violent altercation that erupted early Monday morning at a plaza near Bird Road and Southwest 83rd Avenue.

Officers initially responded to reports of a stabbing, but upon arrival, they discovered a man with a laceration – not a stab wound – to the back of his head.

According to police, the incident stemmed from an argument that escalated between two men and a woman.

One of the individuals allegedly used a broken bottle to strike the victim before fleeing the scene.

The injured man was transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in stable condition.

Police are actively investigating the altercation and have not yet apprehended a suspect.
