New Initiative Empowering South Florida, Black Men
MIAMI – The grassroots group Black Men Win, Together, in partnership with the South Florida Black Prosperity Alliance, has launched the inaugural Black Men Win Tailgate. The event will gather Black men of all ages and backgrounds from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. This includes seniors, young adults, fathers, veterans, and community leaders. South Florida student leaders give back to the community
MIAMI -- A handful of young people in South Florida spent their time off over the summer as student leaders.Nine high school juniors and seniors were selected to participate in an eight-week paid internship program through which they gained practical experience through community service.The students, from Broward and Miami-Dade schools, were chosen from among hundreds to be leaders and gain life-learning skills. South Miami to install cameras to catch drivers speeding, illegally passing school buses
New cameras are catching speeders and drivers who illegally pass a school bus in Miami-Dade County, and South Miami is the latest city to install the technology. Starting Thursday, cameras in that municipality will automatically ticket drivers going 10 mph or more over the school zone speed limit, which is 15 mph.

Miami-Dade man, 9-year-old son killed in personal watercraft accident in Florida Keys
MARATHON, FLA. (WSVN) - A 47-year-old man from Miami-Dade County and his 9-year-old son died in a personal watercraft accident in Marathon, authorities said. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the victims were riding on a 2018 Yamaha personal watercraft when they struck a seawall, at around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
