Award-winning chef and humanitarian José Andrés — who has been working in Miami since 2012 — has a new cookbook coming out Tuesday inspired by his latest local eatery.

We checked in with Andrés about his perfect day in the 305. Here's what he said:

📱 Morning activity: Wake up and check WhatsApp to connect with the World Central Kitchen team. We have food fighters all around the world in different time zones, so I catch up on anything I missed during the night.

☕️ Breakfast: I love to start the day with a café con leche, and luckily, there is no shortage of them in Miami! I love the ventanitas throughout the city, but if I am in South Beach, I head to Puerto Sagua for café con leche and tortillas de huevos.

🍽️ Afternoon activity: In the afternoon I check in with my team at Zaytinya South Beach at The Ritz-Carlton on menu development and operations. We are currently preparing for a special event for the launch of the Zaytinya Cookbook, so we are working on finalizing all menu details.

😋 Lunch: For lunch, I'm crossing the bridge to Tacotomía in Downtown Miami, by my friend Karla Hoyos.

🌇 Evening activity: Wherever I am, I love to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Miami sunsets are particularly amazing with pastel tones on the beach. DiLido Beach Club at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach is ideal for this.

🦀 Dinner: Joe's Stone Crab is a classic, of course, but newcomer Klaw is another great fresh seafood option in Miami with beautiful water views.
