    What's going up: Edgewater is booming, Miami Worldcenter takes shape

    A new affordable housing project broke ground near Miami Beach's Normandy Shores Golf Course, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

    • Vista Breeze, on South Shore Drive, will offer apartments for seniors making up to 80% of area median income.

    Edgewater is booming, and Peruvian developer William Ticona is making moves after sitting on land there.

    • Grupo T&C, where Ticona is general manager, announced Friday that it was launching the 55-story Edge House Miami, a luxury short-term rental development at 1825 NE 4th Ave.

    • The property is one of multiple Edgewater parcels where Ticona is looking to build. He's also planning a boutique condo between Northeast 27th and 28th streets, The Real Deal reported, and eyeing a third parcel.

    Miami Worldcenter, the massive downtown development district, continues to grow into its 27-acre footprint. It broke ground on a new residential tower last week.

    • JEM Private Residences, on Northeast 10th Street and Second Avenue, will have a mix of condos and apartments, per the South Florida Business Journal .
    • Amenities include a boxing ring, cold plunge, yoga garden and a spa with a salt room.
    • What's next: An Apple store and a Mexican restaurant /tequila bar concept from pop star Nick Jonas and designer John Varvatos are expected to open at Worldcenter next year.

    A major development at the site of the old Wendy's at 3333 Biscayne Blvd. is in the works, per The Next Miami .

    • The property, approved for demolition, will include two residential towers and a smaller office building.
