Val+tino Will Be Replaced this Fall

The restaurant at 620 S. Federal Highway has had a rocky few years. Originally home to Valentino Cucina Italiana , the restaurant closed at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, last summer, What Now reported that a reopening was in the works. And indeed, Val+Tino opened after a rebrand.

That wasn’t the end of the drama, however. Only forty days after the opening, the restaurant’s chef, Giovanni Rocchio , left Val+Tino. The restaurant has since had to close again and regroup one more time.

According to recent coverage by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel , another reopening is in the works, including a total rebrand and a new name. The details are still under wraps regarding the name and the menu. After Rocchio’s departure, several of the chef’s pasta dishes had already been stricken from the menu, the Sun-Sentinel points out.

What Now reached out to co-owner Mike Linder on Monday to inquire about the reopening. Linder declined to share any details at this time.
