Miami Man Arrested for Attempted Murder, Rape, Robbery

Miami, FL - A South Florida transient has been arrested on charges of armed sexual battery, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, and armed robbery/home invasion.

The arrest stems from an assault reported on Monday on the 1400 block of Northwest 67th Street in Miami.

According to police, a woman and her boyfriend, who'd been residing in an abandoned house for several months, were threatened by the suspect, identified as Tarrel Stillman, at gunpoint late Sunday night.

The report says that Stillman robbed the boyfriend of cash and drugs before forcing him into another room.

Stillman then allegedly raped the woman at gunpoint, telling her to comply to avoid being hurt, before fleeing the scene.

While speaking with officers, the victim's boyfriend spotted Stillman nearby and identified him to police.

Stillman maintained his innocence, claiming he was overseeing the abandoned property and intended to confront the couple about trespassing.

The victim's boyfriend corroborated the woman's account, including the robbery and sexual assault threats.

Stillman is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
