The Miami Marlins resume play with the second half of the 2024 season on Friday with a four-game series against the New York Mets.

But if you’re a Marlins fan already looking ahead to next season — Miami, after all, is 33-63, 16.5 games out of a wild card spot and a whopping 29 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the National League East with 66 games left to play — the good news is MLB released its 2025 schedule on Thursday.

Here are the highlights concerning the Marlins’ 162-game slate next year:

    ▪ Opening Day is March 27 at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It’s the sixth time in eight years that the Marlins are opening at home and the second consecutive year Miami is opening at home against Pittsburgh. The season-opening homestand continues with a three-game series against the Mets before Miami’s first road trip to the Atlanta Braves and Mets.

    ▪ April 25-April 30, May 23-May 28 and June 24-June 29: The Marlins’ three West Coast trips, for those who need or want advanced notice of the Marlins’ late starts. The first of the three cross-country trips include games against the Seattle Mariners (April 25-27) and Los Angeles Dodgers (April 28-30). One month later, it’s the Los Angeles Angels (May 23-25) and San Diego Padres (May 26-28). And finally it’s the San Francisco Giants (June 24-26) and Arizona Diamondbacks (June 27029).

    ▪ June 6-15: The Marlins’ first of three — yes, three — three-city road trips of the season, which includes series against the Tampa Bay Rays (June 6-8), Pirates (June 9-12) and Washington Nationals (June 13-15).

    ▪ July 14-17: The All-Star Break, with the 2025 All-Star Game taking place on July 15 at Atlanta’s Truist Park.

    ▪ Aug. 1-3: The Marlins host the New York Yankees.

    ▪ Aug. 7-17: The Marlins’ second three-city road trip of the campaign, with stops at the Braves (Aug. 7-10), Cleveland Guardians (Aug. 12-14) and Boston Red Sox (Aug. 15-17).

    ▪ Aug. 18-27: The first of two three-team homestands at loanDepot park. This one includes series against the St. Louis Cardinals (Aug. 18-20), Toronto Blue Jays (Aug. 22-24) and Braves (Aug. 25-27).

    ▪ Sept. 5-14: Miami’s second three-team homestand of the season, which includes series against the Phillies (Sept. 5-8), Nationals (Sept. 8-11) and Detroit Tigers (Sept. 12-14).

    ▪ Sept. 16-25: The Marlins’ finall three-city road trip of the season, with stops at the Colorado Rockies (Sept. 16-18), Texas Rangers (Sept. 19-21) and Phillies (23-25).

    ▪ Sept. 26-28: The Marlins close the season at home against the New York Mets.
