Carmelo Anthony's Surprising Revelation About Nearly Joining The Heat's Big Three

On Paul George’s podcast , Former NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony revealed that he had the opportunity to team up with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat , but he wasn't comfortable being a 4th option during his prime.

He expressed how, as their NBA careers developed together, they all started to become very close, and it really picked up when they all played in the Olympics together on the United States team. Although Anthony and James were drafted in the same draft class, so they went further back than most.

“The conversation goes serious after 06’, 07’, and 08’. It was supposed to be Bosh and Wade, then me and Bron, going somewhere. We wanted it to be New York or Chicago.” Anthony revealed

He added, “Being the 4th option on the team, when I'm leading a team every single year, I don't know mentally if I would’ve been ready for that.”

Anthony was one of the best talents in the league during that time, yet he retired with zero championships. If he ended up going to Miami, that is one thing that could've been different.
