Pitbull Stadium? That's coming soon after international music star Pitbull purchased the naming rights to a college football stadium.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Pitbull is set to pay Florida International University north of $1 million per year for the naming rights to their football stadium over the next five seasons. Here was his tweet Tuesday morning with that news:

"International recording artist Pitbull is purchasing the naming rights to FIU’s football stadium," Thamel said. "He’s expected to pay the school $1.2 million per year for the next five years to change the name of FIU Stadium to Pitbull Stadium, per FIU board documents."

There are still some t's to cross and i's to dot, but barring any surprises, Thamel says this deal ought to be finalized ahead of FIU's home opener against Central Michigan.

"The naming requires finalization later today, including board approval from FIU’s Board of Trustees," added Thamel.

"Pitbull is the first known musical artist to have a college stadium bear his name. FIU will open the newly named Pitbull Stadium against Central Michigan on Sept. 7."

Currently called FIU Stadium, it's located in the Miami area, where Pitbull went to high school.

The pop star actually does have some obligations of his own as part of the deal. According to Thamel, he'll have to promote the Panthers on social media and he's set to make them a song.

"As part of the deal, according to the documents, Pitbull will create an anthem for FIU, post about the school on social media 12 times a year and appear at one athletics fundraising event per year throughout the term of the agreement," wrote Thamel .

For FIU and Pitbull, this is the start of a beautiful friendship.
