On Instagram, star of the reality television show “1000-Lb. Sisters” Tammy Slaton revealed she has lost 500 pounds.

Now, she’s opening up about the hard work and dedication it took.

In a video posted on Instagram, Slaton shared that she has always taken a lot of photos of herself, even before meeting this weight loss milestone, not “because I think I look good,” but because “I want to remember how big I was” so that she can reflect.

“My life has been a rollercoaster, and I’m proud to share that I’ve lost over 500 pounds,” she wrote in the caption. “Some of you might know me from ‘1000-Lb. Sisters,’ but here on my page, it’s all about love, positivity, and celebrating every step of the journey.”

Fan applauded Slaton, praising her for her hard work. “This is the healed Tammy that I’ve been rooting for!!! So happy to hear how encouraging you are and now can see the light at the end of that long tunnel. You go girl,” one commenter wrote.

“So proud of you!!!!!! You are changing lives Tammy,” another person added.

Throughout her publicized journey, Slaton has endured many hardships. She was the target of a break in , she lost her husband shortly after marrying him, and as she shared in her video, she often turned to alcohol and binge eating to deal with those difficult life moments.

“It’s not a diet,” Slaton shared with her followers. “They say it’s a lifestyle change, which it really is. I had a lot of demons, inner demons that I had to fight.”

And while Slaton admits she’s still fighting those demons, she’s clearly won this round. “You’re not alone,” she shared in her message for those who are on their own journey. “You can do anything once you put your mind to it. Never give up.”
