    How long will Publix, Walmart and other supermarkets be open before Hurricane Milton?

    Hurricane Milton’s approach shouldn’t send Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach grocery shoppers into an apocalyptic buying spree.

    The rest of Florida? What you have by sundown Tuesday is what you’ll have until Milton passes.

    Here’s a list of how Hurricane Milton is affecting some major supermarket chains in Florida. We’ll update it as we get answers from more major grocers.

    Publix: According to the map on Publix’s website, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach stores will be open normal hours Wednesday and Thursday. Publix stores from Martin County to Flagler County on the Atlantic Coast; Collier County (Naples) to Marion County along the Gulf Coast; and the Central Florida area will close 3 p.m., 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Tuesday; remain closed Wednesday; and are scheduled to reopen Thursday.

    Sedano’s: Miami and Fort Lauderdale area stores will operate normal hours. All Orlando area stores, however, will be closed Wednesday with no reopening date set.

    Fresco y Mas: Three stores in Tampa, one in Deltona and one in the Lehigh Acres area of Lee County will be closed Wednesday, with reopening date to be determined.

    Walmart/Sam’s Club: The nation’s largest grocery seller has an interactive map showing the status of its Walmart Supercenter, Walmart Neighborhood Market and Sam’s Club stores. As of 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, 66 stores were closed in Florida.

    Winn-Dixie: A list of Winn-Dixie stores possibly affected by Milton will be updated at least twice daily, possibly more often, on the company’s website. As of 3 p.m. Tuesday outside of South Florida, expect Tuesday afternoon closing times in the rest of the state and being closed on Wednesday.

    Target: According to the store locator, some Target stores in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area — 132658 University Plaza St., 15240 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., 1040 Dale Mabry Hwy. among them — and all stores in the Orlando area are open until 10 p.m. Tuesday. Some of the Orlando stores are open until 11 p.m. All stores are closed Wednesday and expect to reopen on Thursday.

    Aldi: At least three Aldi stores in the Tampa area and 12 in the Orlando area already were closed as of noon Tuesday, with a planned Thursday reopenings. To check your store, go to Aldi’s Florida store locator.

    Whole Foods Market: Orlando, Tampa and Sarasota area stores already are closed. The scheduled reopening for these stores is 8 a.m. Thursday.
