The National Hurricane Center's 11 pm Thursday advisory reported that Tropical Storm Leslie is 1700 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 65 mph. It’s moving at 9 mph to the north-northwest.

"Additional weakening is forecast to continue and Leslie is forecast to become post-tropical in couple days." forecasters explained.

There were many developments today: Leslie formed and strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane then into a tropical storm with sustained winds of 65 mph.

    YESTERDAY (Wednesday):

Yesterday, Leslie reached new heights of intensity and was upgraded from a Category 1 hurricane into a Category 2 hurricane, with winds blowing at 105 mph.
