‘OK, that wasn’t good’: Watch Anderson Cooper get smacked with debris covering Milton

That’s gonna leave a mark (maybe).

Anderson Cooper risked life and limb on Wednesday night while covering Hurricane Milton on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

The veteran CNN journalist was reporting live in Bradenton, by the raging Manatee River, when suddenly a piece of debris whacked him in the head.

“The water is now is really starting to pour over and you look at the ground,” says the 57-year-old father of two, getting hammered with driving rain.

The chyron on the broadcast says the time was 9:04 p.m., about a half-hour after Milton made landfall in Siesta Key with dangerous storm surge and winds up to 120 mph.

Suddenly, an unknown white object makes contact with his baseball cap.

“Whoa!” Cooper says, as his reflexes immediately kick in and he ducks. “OK, that wasn’t good. We’ll probably go inside shortly.”

All’s well, according to his colleague Kaitlan Collins, who addressed viewers shortly afterward.

“I do want to note to everyone watching who is obviously very concerned about all our correspondents and anchors on the ground, Anderson is OK,” she said.

Manatee County remains under a flood watch issued by the National Weather Service until 8 p.m. Thursday. As for the rest of the Sunshine State, more than three million people are without power; the death toll stands at seven , and that number could still climb.
